Ceftazidime Precautions

This medicine should not be applied in patients having allergy to Ceftazidime, or to similar antibiotics, such as Ceclor, Cefzil, Ceftin, Duricef, Omnicef, Keflex, Spectracef, Suprax, and others.

Ensure your doctor knows if you have a stomach or intestinal disorder, liver or kidney disease, heart failure, diabetes, cancer, or if you are malnourished.

Ceftazidime can reduce efficacy of birth control pills. Consider about using a non-hormone method of birth control (such as a condom, spermicide and diaphragm) to avoid pregnancy while using it.

Use this drug for the full prescribed span of time although your symptoms improve. Do not use it to treat a viral infection such as the common cold or flu.
